“My first attempt to compose a fully English Song”. Over the past 2 years, I discovered one melancholy tune while improvising few chord progressions with my
The tune of the verse did not sound good enough and I believe it was too depressing – did not too catchy I should say. Until one day, I learned one of the most fundamental secret of how our brain functions and how does it related to creativity and arts, how does it inspire musicians to compose a wonderful piece of song and how does it influence thinkers to come up with ideas and thoughts. The class is so called a Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) and it was part of the communication module in BeST program.
That night, I grabbed Pjoe's Mitchell acoustic-electric guitar, just a moment before I dozed off, and ran on this particular pop's chord progression (I usually don't play or cover people songs, but I love to run some random progressions). The room surrounding was dark; though the moonlight was still be able to go through the window, and it was just a right atmosphere for us to fall asleep. Suddenly, there it came. Too fast which I almost did not realize how could I come up with the verse, and it suits well with the pre-chorus and the chorus I mentioned earlier. Malays call this as “Ilham”.
Later, the words were again revised and I decided to make it sounds more 'general' instead of making it sounds too passionate. You may sing this song to your friends, closed friends, or even your loved one. It depends upon that person understanding, as if how he or she to interpret the whole message, but I believe the song is all about “Friendship, Trusty, and Love”.
Recorded using my built-in web-cam microphone (ASUS EeePC), indeed the sound's quality is so cheap. I was singing while playing the guitar, and the laptop was exactly in front of me (to record my play), placed about 30cm in distance. I turned on the fan in purpose since it was

P/S: She was first confused while listening and referring to the lyric. It turned out that I accidentally gave her the “Enigma” song, but the lyric is “My Number One”. Obviously both songs are in different language, Haha. Clumsy me..

Last but not least, I would like to dedicate this song to all friends who know me, both from the bad side and from the bright side, and also to all BeST Programme 2010 members. I'm looking forward to record this song professionally in the near future, but do comment and correct my grammar, choice of words, sentence structure.. Please, it is still in Beta. PseudoAudio 2nd Single
Single terbaru PseudoAudio bertajuk Kota Kita (コタ キタ) kini sudah pun dirilis dengan rasmi. Tentu ramai tertanya-tanya, mana datang tersesat karakter Jepun tu. Kalau yang pernah belajar bahasa Jepon, mungkin diorang tahu maksudnya, tapi buat readers yang kurang pasti, itulah huruf katakana jepon yang digunakan untuk menulis bahasa asing dalam teks2 rasmi, supaya blended dengan huruh hiragana dan kanji diorang. Dan cara sebutannya, kalau tunjuk je tulisan ni (コタ キタ) kat orang jepon yang asli, diorang akan sebut "Ko-Ta Ki-Ta". Kailan n Tempoyaks: The First Outbreak
Salam bloggers.
Pernah dengar tak istilah asimilasi? Pertama kali aku jumpa perkataan ni adalah ketika aku menuntut di sekolah rendah, yakni ketika menduduki darjah 5 (lama dah dulu), tapi bukan menerusi buku ilimiah atau buku teks bahasa melayu, mahupun kamus dewan, tapi aku kenal perkataan ni ketika aku membaca komik Dragon Ball Z yang sungguh panas (dan meletup ala-ala lagu "Oh-La-La" KRU) sekitar pertengahan dekad 90'an.
Ceritanya ketika tu, Piko yang baru tiba di Planet Nameck dalam usaha untuk menentang Fliza telah terjumpa dengan Neil (orang suku kaumnya juga, warga Nameck) yang dah tinggal nyawa-nyawa ikan. Memandangkan Neil sudah pun bersemuka dan bertarung dengan Fliza sebelum itu (dah tahu taktik pertarungan dia la), dan Piko juga tengah sihat dan kuat wal'afiat waktu tu, maka mereka bersetuju la untuk berASIMILASI - terus menjadi seseorang yang sangat hebat, fizikal dan mental!
Assimilasi wujud dari perkataan 'Assimilation' (noun) yang membawa pelbagai erti:
- The process of absorbing nutrients into the body after digestion
- The social process of absorbing one cultural group into harmony with another
- The state of being assimilated; people of different backgrounds come to see themselves as part of a larger national family
Tapi Alhamdulillah la, orang melayu kita ni kreatif. Perkataan assimilation tu diubahsuai sikit, seperti menukar plate jenama "Perodua kancil" kepada "Daihatsu Mira" (padahal interior, chasis, engine, dashboard memang Kancil), siap status perkataan assimilation tu yang asalnya "noun", terus ditukar kepada "verb" atau kata kerja. i.e Piko berasimilasi dengan Neil. Bangga siot, melayu memang kreatif..
Okay, cukup sudah merepak panjang-lebar-tinggi pasal assimilasi, point aku untuk posting kali ini pendek saja sebenarnya. Hujung minggu lalu, bertarikh 9 Mei 09, kitorang baru saja selesai mempersembahkan lagu-lagu terbaru kitorang untuk Senior Nite atau lebih dikenali dengan Malam Graduasi. Tapi kali ini, kami bukan sahaja berdua (Ejoy dan Pjoe), seperti Senior Nite sebelumya. Kami sudah berasimilasi dengan seorang lagi rakan, bertindak selaku drummer, iaitu Zali, lalu lahirlah nama "Kailan n Tempoyaks". Kenapa mesti Kailan? Kenapa mesti Tempoyak? Sebab kitorang suka makan kailan masak belacan di samping satu tupperware berisi segenggam tempoyak. Kedua-dua makanan tu pun berbau, dan sesetengah orang tak suka atas alasan busuk, tapi kena ingat juga asal usul kita.
Walaupun tanpa khidmat pemain Bass atau Keyboard/Synthsizer, Alhamdullilah, lagu-lagu berjaya disampaikan dengan jayanya. Terima kasih korang, especially adek-adek di RIT, dan rakan-rakan seperjuangan sekalian. Lepas ni besar kemungkinan kita susah untuk berjumpa lagi, jadi lagu-lagu ini merupakan hadiah dari kitorang, yang tak lah seberapa, tetapi moga-moga dapat dirujuk balik ketika kita di hari tua kelak - Itu pun kalau Facebook, Blogspot dan Youtube wujud dan tak bankrupt lagi la waktu tu, LOL.

Hilang - Single Ketiga
Salam bloggers! Seperti yang dijangka, Alhamdullilah, single kami (Ejoy & Pjoe) yang terbaru akhirnya telah berjaya disiapkan selepas tertangguh beberapa ketika dek kerana jadual sebagai seorang pelajar U yang agak ketat. Project X
My 4-year journey at the R.I.T is finally approaching its end. It seems like yesterday was the day when I first opened a new chapter in my life as a freshman. Yet, another 3 months and I shall say goodbye to all memories, professors, friends (indeed only a small circle of american friends), and last but not least, my sweet 'Riverknoll'.
As one chapter of my life ends, there will be another chapter that comes in unintentionally. Whereas some of my friends are already looking for grad schools, my future as a young scientist are still uncertain. Besides Malaysia's economy nowadays is in its ups and downs, and kinda give me a signal to think twice any next move and decision to be made in my career.
At this point, some of you might ask, what the heck this posting is all about - it seems like I was talking about my personal life and its dilemma, and yet the title says "Project X". Well, Relax son.. My english teacher used to say, most of the time a good introduction will guarantee a good form of essay, and eventhough I know the introduction of this post is kinda crappy rather than *****y (can't think another good word for this), at least I try to hook up what I've already learned in high school, right? (Giler poyo nak mampus mamat ni, hahaha)
Long story short, I would like to introduce to you what I (we?) call as 'Project X' - when I say project x, and I'm using the CAPITAL letter of X, mathematically known as root/solution for any polynomial equation, it is a serious BIG thing. But wait, what is project X? The answer will be revealed soon, maybe by the end of summer 2009. Moreover, any musician (especially who play bass line and/or piano) who's interested can consult me directly through this posting, or consult our manager Azman Redza via his email pembelit@yahoo.com (don't misunderstand, he's not a kaki putar belit or something like that, he's just a nice guy with a good looking appearance, hehehe). Riverknoll - Single Kedua
Selepas mendapati lagu "Pertemuan" telah mendapat sokongan yang memberangsangkan dari sahabat handai dan saudara mara terdekat (kononnya la, hahaha), usaha kami (saya dan pjoe) untuk berkarya tidak terhenti disitu. Buktinya, kami kini telah berjaya menghasilkan single kedua bertajuk "Riverknoll" yang mana dihasilkan 100% oleh kami - kata orang putihnya Homemade/Mini Home Studio.
Berbekalkan peralatan yang murah (termasuk mic PC yang berharga tidak sampai RM20, dan software percuma seperti Audacity), lagu ini mengambil masa 2 minggu untuk disiapkan termasuklah dari aspek merakam trak lagu hingga ke editing.
Aspek Teknikal
Setelah membuat beberapa penilaian dari aspek teknikal, berikut adalah kesimpulan yang dapat kami cetuskan:
1) Bunyi 'Cymbal' (percussion) sedikit kuat walaupun beberapa kali cuba dikecilkan bunyinya.
2) Kualiti yang berbeza-beza sekiranya anda menggunakan earfon atau headfon atau loud speaker atau woofer untuk mendengar lagu ini. Di antara semua alat dengar yang dinyatakan, mendengar lagu ini menerusi headfon adalah yang terbaik.
3) Rakaman hanya menggunakan mic PC yg murah, kualiti asal bunyi adalah kurang memuaskan, namun berjaya dipertingkatkan sedikit kualitinya menggunakan teknologi komputer.
4) Kebanyakan instrumen adalah bunyi MIDI - jumlah trak keseluruhan mencecah hampir 30 trak semuanya.
5) Banyak lagi kelemahan yang perlu diperbaiki - kami masih amatur. Dan ini juga merupakan kali pertama kami merakam lagu sendiri. First attempt bak kata orang puteh. Lalala.

Instruments usedAspek Lagu
Kembali kepada fokus yang cuba diketengahkan oleh lagu ini - "Riverknoll" menceritakan serba sedikit pengalaman pelajar-pelajar Malaysia di R.I.T (Rochester Institute of Technology). Nama "Riverknoll" yang diselitkan dalam lagu ini mewakili "kehidupan pelajar-pelajar" itu sendiri, termasuklah kami sendiri (Riverknoll adalah nama salah sebuah kawasan kediaman/apartmen di R.I.T).
Kenapa kami pilih Riverknoll? Sebab yang pertama, kebanyakan pelajar-pelajar Malaysia disini PERNAH menetap di Riverknoll, termasuk saya dan Pjoe sendiri. Kedua, Riverknoll juga merupakan destinasi/rumah yang pertama kami tuju ketika kami mula-mula sampai di R.I.T pada tahun 2005 (Rumah abang Faiz, tribute2, hehehe). Dan yang ketiga, Riverknoll kemungkinan besar akan dirobohkan sepenuhnya menjelang tahun 2010, oleh itu dengan menggunakan nama Riverknoll sebagai tajuk lagu ini, secara tidak langsung nama Riverknoll dapat di abadikan bersama dengan kenangan kami semua di R.I.T, diabadikan bersama-sama dalam lirik lagu ini.
Buat mereka yang tidak pernah sampai ke R.I.T dan tertanya-tanya bagaimana rupa sebenar Riverknoll, jangan malu jangan segan, cari saja di Google Earth, Google Maps atau Wikipedia. Sekarang kan zaman dot net dot my dan segala dot lagi.
